We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredible news! At the recent Passenger Safety Event in Milton Keynes on Thursday 18th June 2026, Network Rail North West and Central Route officially received their Gold Disc, marking their status as a Gold Partner within the Rail Safe Friendly Programme.

The coveted Gold Disc was proudly accepted by Jennifer Hartnett, Route Crime and Security Manager for West Coast South and a brilliant, passionate ambassador for our campaign.

What a Gold Partnership Means for Community Safety

Achieving Gold status represents an extraordinary commitment to keeping young people safe. By stepping up to the Gold level, Network Rail North West and Central Route is sponsoring 150 schools and actively backing our mission to eliminate trespass and dangerous behaviour on the UK’s rail network.

Their support ensures that life-saving rail safety education, delivered through our interactive Learn Live broadcasts, will reach thousands more schoolchildren, parents, and teachers across one of the busiest and most critical rail regions in the country.

We want to extend a massive thank you to Jennifer Hartnett and the entire Network Rail North West and Central Route team. Jennifer’s day-to-day work involves managing route crime and security to keep passengers and freight moving safely. Her energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to taking safety awareness beyond the tracks and straight into local schools make her the perfect champion for this initiative.

The Journey to 2027

With 137 rail businesses now actively supporting the campaign, milestones like this bring us one step closer to our ultimate goal: having every single school in the UK enrolled in the Rail Safe Friendly Programme by 2027.
