Network Rail Wales and Borders & TFW Strengthens Commitment to Rail Safety Education Through Platinum-Level Partnership
Network Rail Wales and Borders, in collaboration with TFW has proudly joined the Rail Safe Friendly programme at Platinum level, demonstrating their commitment to educating young people about railway safety and helping to prevent incidents of trespass and unsafe behaviour across the rail network.
The Rail Safe Friendly programme enables schools and the rail industry to work together towards a shared goal: equipping children and young people with the knowledge they need to stay safe around railways. Through free, engaging educational resources and direct collaboration with industry partners, the programme helps embed life-saving safety messages into schools and communities nationwide.
As part of its partnership, Network Rail Wales and Borders & TFW will sponsor 300 schools, helping them gain access to the Rail Safe Friendly programme and its educational safety resources. Through their involvement with Rail Safe Friendly, Network Rail Wales and Borders & TFW are creating long-term social value by supporting safer communities, empowering young people with life-saving education, and strengthening engagement between the railway industry, schools, and local communities across their network.
Rail Safe Friendly, delivered by Learn Live, continues to grow across the UK rail industry, helping schools access curriculum-linked rail safety content through live and on-demand broadcasts. Schools can work towards Bronze, Silver, or Gold accreditation by engaging with the content and championing rail safety within their communities.
