UK schools remain to be reached by the Rail Safe Friendly Programme

The Rail Safe Friendly Programme

We aim to have every school in the UK enrolled on the Rail Safe Friendly Programme by the year 2027.

The Rail Safe Friendly programme is dedicated to spreading the vital message of rail safety among young individuals, educators, and parents throughout schools in the UK through our innovative Learn Live news channel.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that every child should be equipped with the essential knowledge to navigate the railway environment safely.

  •  I was surprised by some of the assumptions they wrongly held before watching the video. In particular, some of them have changed their opinion now about whether they should retrieve an object they drop on the train track, and what to do in that situation, and they now understand that wearing gloves won't protect them or that using a stick or net to retrieve an item is also unsafe.

  • The Year 1 children were highly engaged with the safety video presentation. The visual content and clear messaging were very effective in capturing their attention throughout. The use of age-appropriate language and relatable scenarios helped the children understand the key messages around rail safety. They responded well to the interactive elements and were eager to ask questions and discuss what they had learned afterwards. It was evident that the video made a strong impression and supported our ongoing efforts to teach the importance of safety in a meaningful and memorable way.
