Becoming a Rail Safe Friendly school will allow you to deliver assemblies that empower students to make wise decisions and prioritise their safety. Additionally, they will benefit from complimentary career guidance provided by an industry professional.

Schools can participate in the Rail Safe Friendly Programme and achieve various levels of recognition:

BRONZE

A school must;

Ensure that all students and staff have viewed the rail safety broadcast available through the Learn Live channel.

SILVER

A school must;

First complete the Bronze requirement.

Inform parents and guardians about the rail safety broadcast through various communication methods such as newsletters, assemblies, or social media.

Engage with another school regarding the Rail Safe Friendly Programme and facilitate an email introduction to the programme.

GOLD

A school must;

Fulfil both the Bronze and Silver criteria.

Collaborate with students to create promotional materials like a rail safety video, podcast, or poster, which can be shared on school and social media platforms using this brief.
Participating in this creative activity also enters the school into the Backtrack competition for a chance to win prizes.
